There is a demand out there for qualified and capable people to organise all kind of Events. Event managers needed for a variety of events, inc business team building, concerts, sports, exhibits, fundraisers, fashion shows, award ceremonies. The list is endless.
From a very early age I have taken a keen interest in the running of things, school plays were always exciting for me, not because of the auditions for the lead part, but because I could yet again help organise and run the play. Planning and seeing through a successful project is what I buzz off. My most recent event has been through my current job a Betting Office Manager, where I have organised a trip to the races for the customers. I managed to do this under budget, very successfully and to everyone’s satisfaction. It was a very successful day, and I made new contacts which I can hopefully utilize in the future.
I believe the skills I have gained in my life experience during my 10 years since school will benefit me in becoming a student Glamorgan University and I will be very proud of. Skills including; honesty, integrity, maturity, respect, and above all, a desire to achieve everything that I can, and be the best at what I do.
In my personal life, I thrive from organising days out and parties for friends and family. Whether it is sporting events on the TV, or trips to the zoo/theme park for example, I take pride in helping getting everyone together to enjoy a wonderful day. I am the father of two gorgeous children and husband to a beautiful wife, my main goal in life now is to achieve a qualification for Event Management and become active in this field. Over the three years during the course I would also like to learn another language, as I believe this will benefit me further in my future as an Event Manager.
In my spare time I enjoy playing golf, watching sports, walking, spending time with the family, and have a keen interest to one day travel the world.

My decision to get a Masters Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, at this point in my career, is precisely based on a question “Where I would be the in next five years"? Though a five year of professional work experience in the field of Logistics and Operations has given me the vast knowledge and command to cope with modern business challenges as a manager, yet I feel that current fast growing and competitive business world need vital strategic thinking and an adept to change. Globalization has brought new challenges for economies; hence today’s manager must equip himself with the tools and techniques provided by research and development in logistics sector.
The immense amount of my work experience is due to variety of positions I have held during my career growth. Beginning form Logistics Planning and Controlling of Custom and Import/Export Documentation to management of entire operations, warehouse management and all trading matters of organization. I discovered within me, a thirst for knowledge and quick learning, resulting in achieving challenging tasks within deadlines. The ‘Employee of the Year Awards’ is one of the many proofs in recognition of my managerial & team player skills.
My Bachelors in Commerce has given me the fundamentals of Business Law and Management. I learnt the importance of effective business communication especially working in the international business environment. Whereas, MA International Relations enhanced my knowledge about different cultures & economies as well as potential markets for commodities. My MA provided me essential knowledge of International Business that helped me in understanding historical backgrounds, policies and political influence of other countries and their business environment.
The mounting international demand of Information Technology and escalating usage and importance of business solution tools pushed me to cover this deficiency, so I opted for one year diploma in I.T. This helped me to further strengthen my base in e-commerce & data base systems, which has become extensive part of modern day Supply Chain Management.
Some of my personal interests include politics, movies and motor racing. I enjoy reading, swimming, solving puzzles and logic problems. I play football and badminton off and on. I’m very sociable and have friends in all over the world through face book. I’m also subscribed to my field related groups and communities, in order to keep myself updated about the developments and issues related to industry.
For me, there are couple of reasons for choosing University of Derby. First of all, it’s growing reputation and ranking in Britain’s Education sector, secondly, its affordability, and finally the course itself. I firmly believe in gaining highly marketable set of skills from a reputable postgraduate course like ‘MBA Logistics’ from University of Derby.

快速審查文章篩選方式
或許研究人員會有疑問，若是快速審查對研究人員和科學研究都有促進作用，為何沒有被更多期刊採納？簡單的說，期刊若是無償提供快速審查選擇，最根本的問題將會是篩選文章進入快速審查的標準，有部分期刊清楚指出受理要求：除非文章具有特殊科學研究時效性和重要發現，以趕截止日期為由將不予受理；有的期刊在說明中模糊其詞，交由編輯酌情處理，不得不指出，無償提供快速審查在一定程度上將加重期刊的經營成本和負擔，在開放取閱期刊中，費用將會由所有作者平攤支付。
審查標準和文章品質
另外還有一些期刊提供付費快速審查，這類的期刊更大程度的激起了學術界對於審查標準的討論。審查人員和編輯在審查時是否被告知作者付費加速審查過程，是否有偏頗之嫌？若是超過了付費加速審查的預計時間還未得出審查結果，期刊將如何處理？雖說目前沒有明確的數據證明快速審查將會降低文章品質並且影響拒稿率（Rejection Rate），但由於各個期刊之間沒有統一的作法和透明化的政策處理方式，除去少數一兩家期刊提供了數據支持快速審查的公正性之外，其餘期刊的快速審查依舊遭人疑竇。

The words ‘money’ and ‘business’ do not just simply mean cash, but also contain implications of people, trust, management, investment, objectives, strategies, problems, solutions, challenges, failures and successes. My parents have exposed me to the world of business as early as I can remember and this has helped me to confirm my decision to study business related subjects. My parents are both in the construction business; my father is the CEO of his own businesses at home as well as in Vietnam, India and China while my mother is his auditor. My parents and I have often discussed various matters relating to running their business. During my summer holidays after finishing my AS exams, I participated in the business, which reinforced my ideas to become an entrepreneur.
I learnt the importance of communication within the organisation. All the workers used Skype open-conference channel, as well as my parents. Adopting a horizontal organisation structure, where top executives and other employees are at equal levels, everyone can work together, exchanging each other’s information and knowledge. Therefore, enhanced accuracy and fast decision-making were possible. I learnt the necessity of having efficient communication skills, the key in the field of human relations management. These communication skills not only boost your confidence dealing with different people and business transactions, but also make a business prosper as well. Furthermore, I felt there was a strong necessity for the proper reward of workers and the importance of providing a better environment, in which employees could work actively.
We discussed how to tackle the problems related to expanding the business, such as foreigner recruitment and organisational behaviour problems. Gathering up all the information for different kinds of media to advertise the newly constructed buildings, and rating each choice were very important aspects of market research. Additionally, I have also participated in a national construction contract bid management. I spent time to elicit a correlation between the past winning numbers and the possible 6 digit numbers to find the correct figure to win, using an excel sheet with my analytical abilities learnt in Statistics 1 from last year. Through this experience, I realised that, finding flexible solutions and thereby deciding what was best for the company and society, were by far the most important as core objectives of the business. It is my dream to start my own business venture wherein I can carry on the business values based on knowledge passed on by my school and my parents.
Business Studies, as a circular process, emphasises creative problem solving through anticipation and scientific methods based on precise problem recognition, so that the understanding of business is enhanced. With questioning the relationship between cause and effect, it enables the solution of problems which people often encounter. Also, I realised that some important factors cannot be captured as processes, such as human relationships, passions, perseverance, and morals, which are vital to the success of a business. I believe that it is important to study Business Studies as it will provide fundamental knowledge and preparation for entrepreneurship. My name, Jean Son, is a brand in a competitive global society, where everyone is an individual enterprise. I wish to become a top brand and be an expert in my own field with my unique selling point, which distinguishes me from others. I know that time will tell whether I become the leader and not a mere follower of my dreams. I hope that my university course can help my dreams turn into reality.

Business is the way of the world. Shopping, buying, selling, promoting, discounting, are all business activities and we as individuals are involved with in it some way, every day. It’s a field that I am greatly interested in, and wish to learn more about. Although I have a broad range of interests, I have always been drawn to business management because to me it’s a very exciting environment with lots of demands and challenges. However the thing that excites me the most about business management is the way in can directly and indirectly affect the lives of so many people.
I am a forward thinking individual who has drive, ambition and ability, all of which are traits that are vital for effective business management. I posses strong team-working skills, am able to work individually or as part of a group, and have excellent organisational skills that I have gained through my academic and work experience. I consider my key strengths to be; an ability to make analytical judgements, people management, making decisions, assessing business situations and identifying important points. I have excellent interpersonal skills which allow me to relay business information clearly to my target audience, and can prepare well thought out, crisp presentations for both individuals or groups.
At present I am studying for my A levels at college, and what I’ve noticed about myself is that the more I have studied this subject, the more my interest in it has grown. I’ve discovered that it’s more than just management, it’s about ensuring that a customers’ experience is nothing other than exceptional, while motivating a team of employees to effectively deliver the following responsibilities: exceptional customer service, building and maintaining a loyal customer base, coaching & guiding customers on product knowledge and application, calling clients for follow-ups, organising events, handling the arrival of new merchandise, and working as a team to meet individual, team and store objectives. All of these are factors which I now have a firm understanding of.
As a technically minded person I am currently working part time as a IT administrator for a networking company. The role involves me in the administration of the company’s LAN/WAN network in 5 locations, performed desktop services, building the bank’s new personal computers, and installation and distribution of new software. I am involved in the management of the Internet frame relay network, and have helped to develop the company’s operating system migration plan for nearly all computers from Windows 98 to XP or from XP to Windows 7. I am also responsible for performing testing on all workstations and servers, ensuring their compliance or and patching the BIOS.  The position requires me to work in close partnership with the management team, to ensure the provision of a full and comprehensive support to the frontline technology staff.
I feel the three most important points I learnt so far from my work experience, is firstly the ability to understand what drives a business, and the processes needed to help resolve any barriers to continued growth and profitability. Secondly being able to look beyond the numbers to the business trends and drivers, and thirdly being able to work to deadlines and handle pressure.
I am a social person who enjoys spending time with friends and family. I like to be a part of my local community, where I help out at events and activities also performing in the local pantomime! Music is a passion of mine, and I go to concerts whenever possible.
I am now looking for an opportunity to further my personal development and career progression by enrolling with a reputable university on a business management degree course. I want to learn more about the nature, power and limitations of various business techniques; how management can influence a business’ performance; how business and other types of organisations can help society to function and address society’s problems. After viewing many different universities and campuses I have come to the conclusion that your university is the best option for me. I aim to put as much into the course as I get out, and I very much hope that you will look favourably upon my application.

I am currently working full time as an administrator in a Hospital in my gap year after sixth form. I chose to take a year out after my A-Levels to gain some true life experience away from the security net of full time education. I was fortunate enough to gain work in the administration field and so continue to improve my knowledge and computer skills. I am also currently undertaking a 20 week OCR accredited CLAIT Level 1 course at open college to gain more computing skills.
Obtaining a degree in human resource/personnel management will enable me to seek employment in a large corporation where I eventually wish to specialise in staff development.
All my A-level studies interested me, but I felt my sociology A-Level course gave me much information relevant to a human resources/personnel management course such as knowledge of human behaviour and the reasoning behind it. However I do realise the course will entail much work dealing with facts and figures and feel with my GCSE Maths grade B I am well equipped to manage this side of the course too.
Throughout my education I contributed in many events such as induction days, sporting event supervision and attending volleyball and badminton clubs over several years. I also attended many school trips in the UK and abroad. In year eleven I was a senior student, running year seven homework and games clubs that contributed to me achieving my Trident Award to Gold Standard.
The work experience I undertook and my current employment challenge me to work with a diverse range of people in an office environment and allowed me to prove I could work effectively in this kind of occupation as the report of my employer confirmed.
My part time work as a sales assistant also gave me the confidence to communicate well with people from all walks of life and has improved my social and inter-personal relationship skills with other staff members and public. I feel my proven record of good time keeping, hard work and regular attendance would enable me to benefit from a place at university.
In my spare time I enjoy socialising because keeping in touch with my friends is important to me and I also enjoy keeping fit and regularly go to my local leisure centre. In addition I enjoy computing and creating websites that allow me to communicate with people from across the world.
My decision to study human resource/personnel management has taken a lot of research and thought over the past three years. After talking to several people employed in this field of work and researching what the course entails and with the rewards it holds, it was obvious that this kind of work was what I wanted to do and so I have applied to take a degree at university to provide me with the qualifications and experience I need to follow my chosen career path.

I would like to apply to do a Management degree. Having acted as Managing Director on a Young Enterprise Team whilst doing my ‘AS’ levels, I came up with innovative ideas that made a very successful company. Having held management positions within Human Resources, Operations, and Finance, I quickly realised that pursuing a management degree at university would be ideal for me.
After my GCSE’s, I held a temporary job as a junior in an Insolvency practice, in order to gain work experience. Having to work to tight deadlines taught me how to work independently as part of a professional team. I learnt that in business, if one person lacks productivity, then everyone else can suffer, and also how to motivate others as a means of preventing such issues. I used the skills learnt to enhance my role as the Managing Director of my young Enterprise company, particularly methods of motivation and delegation, and the significance of being accountable for others. Having spent nearly three years working part time in a Health food shop alongside my studies, I developed my communication skills, with both colleagues and customers, and proved to be a trustworthy employee.
Being appointed as Deputy Head Boy in the sixth form was a great honour to me. My skills were greatly enhanced by holding this position, as I would often have to listen, and respond to issues brought up by fellow prefects, and students lower down the school. Through activities such as Lunch duty, I learnt the worth of different leadership skills, and that it is important to treat everyone as an individual in order to get results. I was always keen to stay into the evening to help out at school events.
Socialising is very important to me, and I am always keen to meet new people. I enjoy trying new foods to increase my knowledge of different cultures, and my culinary skills will prove very useful in independent university life. I enjoy travelling, and learning about modern history. Having recently returned from Prague, I visited a concentration camp. This was a moving experience for me, and something I will never forget. Music is one of my biggest hobbies, and I use music to help me unwind and reflect on things. I use the internet to keep up with current affairs and sports news.
I have always been a keen sportsman, representing my school in many sporting activities. I enjoy running, particularly competing in sprint races, but also long distance running as a means of keeping fit. I always try to go for a run every evening, during breaks between my A Level studies. I represented my school as a keen member of the district and Maccabi Great Britain athletics teams, particularly in the relay. I formally played tennis and table tennis in national competitions, and more recently I have played in football, rugby, and cricket leagues outside of school.
I believe that my experiences have prepared me for independent university life. My social skills together with my ambition to succeed in life prove me to be good candidate for a Management Degree.
